Letter by email

Dear [redacted]

I write in response to an email received from you by the Office of the Biometrics and Surveillance Camera Commissioner on 14 February 2025, in which you asked for:

1. Copies of any and all emails exchanged between former commissioner Fraser Sampson and email addresses at the domain ‘facewatch.co.uk’ between 1 August 2023 and 31 October 2023.

2. Copies of any and all emails exchanged between former commissioner Tony Porter and email addresses at the domain ‘corsight.ai’ between 14 October 2020 and 14 January 2021.

Your request has been handled as a request for information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. Please note that there is currently no commissioner in post, and this response has been prepared by the team whose function is to support the commissioner.

Emails exchanged between former commissioner Fraser Sampson and Facewatch between 1 August 2023 to 31 October 2023 are already in the public domain, as they were released by this office in response to a previous FoI request, accessible through this link: BSCC-FOI-1523-FG. Therefore, we are exempt from disclosing them again as they fall under exemption 21 – information accessible to applicant by other means. You may also be interested to read the outcome of the internal review, which was requested in relation to that FoI request.

Regarding the second part of your request, we do not hold any emails exchanged between former commissioner Tony Porter and email addresses at the domain ‘corsight.ai’ during the period requested.

If you are dissatisfied with this response, you may request an independent internal review of our handling of your request by submitting a complaint within two months to the address below, quoting reference BSCC-FOI-0225-HD. If you ask for an internal review, it would be helpful if you could say why you are dissatisfied with the response.

As part of any internal review, our handling of your information request will be reassessed by staff who were not involved in providing you with this response. If you remain dissatisfied after this internal review, you have a right of complaint to the Information Commissioner as established by section 50 of the Freedom of Information Act.

Kind regards,

Office of the Biometrics and Surveillance Camera Commissioner
