This annual report analyses the updated 2014 dataset from the bioscience and health technology database. The data relates to companies that are active in the UK in 4 life sciences sectors:

  • medical technology
  • medical biotechnology
  • pharmaceuticals
  • industrial biotechnology

This report shows that the UK life science industry:

  • employs an estimated 183,000 people across the UK
  • generates a combined estimated turnover of £56bn
  • comprises nearly 4,398 companies
