You should use this general licence if you need to remove the meat mark applied to certain poultry meat in England and Wales.
This licence only allows you to remove the meat mark during outbreaks of avian influenza strains starting ‘H5N’ - for example, H5N1 and H5N5. You cannot use this licence to remove the meat mark during an outbreak of any other strains of HPAI, such as H7N9.
You do not need to apply for this general licence but you must meet its conditions and follow its instructions.

This licence is valid from 4:30pm on 9 November 2024 and revokes and replaces the EXD264(HPAI)(EW) licence which came into force at 10am on 12 December 2022.
