Approval of the mark identifying poultry meat from a protection zone in England

The Avian Influenza and Influenza of Avian Origin in Mammals (England) (No.2) Order 2006 No. 2702

The Secretary of State hereby approves for the purpose of Article 63(2)(a) of the Avian Influenza and Influenza of Avian Origin in Mammals (England) (No.2) Order 2006 the mark described in the Schedule.

The approval of the mark made at 6:10pm on 28 October 2023 is hereby revoked.

Schedule

The following mark is to be used for the purpose of Article 63(2)(a) of the Avian Influenza and Influenza of Avian Origin in Mammals (England) (No.2) Order 2006.

(a) “UK”, “GB” or “United Kingdom” – letters 8 mm high;

(b) XXXX - numbers 11mm high (where XXXX is the approval number of the premises, as referred to in point 7 of Part B of Section I of Annex II to Regulation (EC) No 853/2004)

(c) diameter (to outer edge of border) - not less than 30mm;

(d) thickness of border - 3mm

The mark must be legible to the naked eye.

Where an identification mark is applied, such as to retail packaging, the size of the mark may vary according to the size of the packaging; however, it must be legible to the naked eye, indelible and the characters easily decipherable.
