In July and August 2022, Birmingham hosted the 22nd Commonwealth Games, the largest multi-sport event to be held in England in 10 years, featuring thousands of world-class athletes and over 1.5 million spectators.
This report sets out some of the key facts and figures, immediate impacts, memorable moments and iconic images from the Games, including:
- sporting successes and medals won
- Games delivery ‘firsts’ and impacts such as job creation and volunteering opportunities
- cultural highlights
- business and trade activity and the international reach of the Games
- the many ways in which the Games has reached schools and communities across the West Midlands region and the UK
