Bologney River, Suffolk: proposal for factual change

Updated 22 July 2019

Applies to England

1. Appeals now closed

The period for appealing the factual change to the main river stretch of the Bologney River is now closed. The factual change will be applied to the Statutory Main River Map on Wednesday 31 July 2019.

The below is a record of the decision notice of the proposed change.

2. Details of proposed change

The Environment Agency proposes to reduce the length of the Bologney River watercourse in Suffolk that is currently designated as ‘main river’. This change represents a factual ‘determination’ under section 193C(1) of the Water Resources Act 1991. A factual determination is a formal decision to change the main river map to reflect the actual watercourse.

The proposed change is that the section of the Bologney River, Suffolk (MRV_100044), between national grid references (NGRs) TM 43177 56168 and TM 43230 56894, is no longer to be treated as part of a main river.

3. How to view the proposed changes

You can see the proposed change to the main river map on the main river consultation map. The proposed change is shown as a ‘deletion’ a red line on the map.

Or you can view the main river consultation map at:

The change will appear as a deletion on the main river consultation map until 25 March 2019. This is to allow for appeals to the decision. The main river map will be formally changed to reflect the determination in August 2019.
