Details

Heavy plant is being lifted across the river and this will necessitate the temporary closure of the navigation for short periods during daylight hours on Tuesday 22 October to Friday 1 November. This is for the commissioning of a new water main to the city of Oxford.

There will be no navigation under Botley Road bridge during this period.

You should keep to a safe speed and be aware of other boats near these works.

You must follow any instructions given from Environment Agency lock keepers, boat crews and safety boat skippers in the vicinity of the works.

You are responsible for avoiding collisions. You should use all available means appropriate to the situation, to avoid risk.

The river is on Red Boards and all masters, and their vessels, are advised against any navigation for their own safety.

Temporary mooring is still available at East Street, downstream of Botley Road Bridge. This can be used free of charge during the duration of the plant movement.

All directions as to the left and right side of the river are given looking upstream.
