Descriptive reports on the epidemiology of bovine tuberculosis (bTB) in the Low Risk Area (LRA) and Edge Area of England.

Details
These reports cover the various counties or regions that make up the Low Risk Area (LRA) and Edge Area of England. These supplement the regional breakdowns of the official bovine TB (bTB) statistics published every month, and provide cattle keepers and other interested parties with an overview of the bTB situation in their area.
The reports pull together descriptive statistics on new and ongoing bTB herd incidents (also referred to as breakdowns or cases) in the LRA and Edge Area at county level, including regional/county maps of the distribution of new and ongoing TB herd incidents and assessments by APHA vets on the likely source(s) of infection for new lesion or culture-positive TB incidents occurring in each county.
For 2019, we published an interim (mid-year) report for the LRA only covering the period from 1 January to 30 June, followed by a final (year-end) report for the LRA and Edge Area of England. In 2020, the mid-year LRA reports will not be published. This is compensated by the year-end reports for the LRA which are a now a more comprehensive and detailed report after having undergone extensive review for 2019. The year-end reports for 2020 will be published in 2021 for both the LRA and Edge Area of England.
In addition to these reports, the iBTB interactive map shows the location details of current TB breakdowns and breakdowns resolved in the last five years in England and Wales.
