Details

This publication was previously published by Public Health England, which closed on 30 September 2021.

This information supports specialist screening practitioners (SSPs) working in the BCSP to fulfil their requirements for the role.

All SSPs must complete:

  • a taught academic module
  • clinical practice learning
  • advanced communication training

SSPs and screening centres should familiarise themselves with the guidance relating to education and training requirements for SSPs. This includes information about the formal study requirement.

SSPs are expected to work through assessment of core practice skills by direct observation of procedural skills (DOPS).

The DOPS documents provided should be completed by each SSP to support evidence of clinical practice learning.
