Details of the application
Breedon Trading Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is to vary licence serial number AN/033/0012/010/R01 to abstract water from underground strata comprising of gravel at Willington Lock Quarry (contained within the boundary formed by straight lines running between the National Grid References (NGRs) TL 12168 50709, TL 12566 51031, TL 12858 50483 and TL 12449 50190) for the purpose of transferring it without intervening use to the Gadsey Brook between NGRs TL 11000 50740 to TL 11770 50570.
The variation applied for is:
• Extension of the northern and southern boundaries of the abstraction area (to be contained within the boundary formed by straight lines running between the NGRs TL 12049 52249, TL 13521 51616, TL 12552 49979 and TL 11857 50029).
• Additional discharge location upon the River Great Ouse between NGRs TL 12004 50513 and TL 12633 50945.
• Revision of monitoring schedule to encompass the expanded abstraction area.
• Abstraction quantities and period remain the same.
