Details of the application

Breedon Trading Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is to vary licence serial number NE/026/0034/049 to abstract water from the underground strata comprising of sands and gravels at North Cave Quarry, Brough within the area contained by National Grid References (NGRs): SE 86214 33332, SE 88185 31892, SE 86912 31634 and SE 86816 33001 for the purpose of transferring it without intervening use to the (unnamed) live silt lagoon at National Grid Reference: SE 87633 32674.

The variation applied for is to increase the area of abstraction to the area contained by NGRs: SE 86218 33411, SE 88214 33332, SE 88185 31892 & SE 86912 31634. As well as removing the existing discharge point and adding two new discharge reaches, one between NGRs: SE 87889 32650 and SE 87015 32384 and the other between NGRs: SE 87834 33211 and SE 86481 32881.
