RAF air strikes in Iraq and Syria: August 2018

Wednesday 1 August
A coalition surveillance aircraft identified a terrorist truck concealed under trees in a remote area of countryside, some 40 miles north east of Tikrit. A flight of Tornado GR4s from RAF Akrotiri, supported by a Voyager air refuelling tanker, conducted a successful attack on the vehicle using a single Paveway IV guided bomb.
Tuesday 14 August
A Reaper armed with Hellfire missiles tracked and engaged terrorists in a vehicle north of Abu Kamal in eastern Syria.
Wednesday 15 August
A group of Daesh terrorists spotted in the open, some fifteen miles north of Abu Kamal, was struck by two Hellfire missiles from an RAF Reaper.
Friday 17 August
Terrorists occupied a large building in the desert, a number of miles to the north west of Bayji. A coalition surveillance aircraft checked the surrounding area for signs of civilian presence and 2 Tornados conducted an attack with Paveway bombs demolishing the building and destroying a vehicle used by the terrorists. A further terrorist was observed on foot close by after the attack, and was struck by a Brimstone missile.
Thursday 23 August
A Reaper patrolled over the Euphrates valley in Syria. A building occupied by Daesh was identified, and hit with a single Hellfire missile.
