The BHC supervises the hallmarking activities of the 4 UK assay offices to ensure there is adequate provision of hallmarking in the UK. The BHC is an executive non-departmental public body, sponsored by the Department for Business and Trade (DBT).
The framework document sets out the broad framework within which the BHC operates, and its relationship with DBT.
