Details
The former Governor of the British Virgin Islands (BVI) established a Commission of Inquiry in January 2021. The inquiry was to establish whether there was evidence that corruption, abuse of office or other serious dishonesty took place in public office in recent years, and if so what conditions allowed this to happen.
The Inquiry Commissioner, the Rt Hon Sir Gary Hickinbottom, presented his report to the Governor to the British Virgin Islands, John Rankin, on 4 April 2022.

The Foreign Secretary gave a written ministerial statement on 8 June 2022, outlining the UK government’s response to the report.
