Burnley Group Partnership has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a full licence to abstract water from the Sock Drain and unnamed drains at Burnley Hall Estate between National Grid References TG 45979 21485 and TG 46979 21916, TG 46086 21341 and TG 47124 21723, TG 46971 20793 and TG 46978 20714, and TG 47460 20598 and TG 47476 20528.
The application is to abstract water as follows:
- 54 cubic metres an hour
- 1,296 cubic metres a day
- 100,000 cubic metres a year
- between 1 November and 31 March inclusive in each year.
The water will be used for filling a reservoir for subsequent spray irrigation.
