Details

The attached table sets out the median, lower quartile and upper quartile rateable value per square metre by region and sector. These figures are in addition to the average rateable value per square metre published in our NDR Floorspace official statistics publication on 17 May 2012.

The 2012 publication reflects the latest data we have available on floorspace. There are currently no firm plans to update this publication, though this is under active review as part of our plans for future publication of VOA statistics.

In addition it should be noted that:

  • Sector groupings are currently under development and do not match here with those used in our latest NDR stock of properties publication published 30 July 2015;
  • Conventions for measuring floorspace differ for different types of property. Further details are set out in the explanatory notes for the Floorspace publication note referred to above;
  • The table is in line with the May 2012 publication which did not feature floorspace statistics for those in the “Excluded” category.
