Details of the application

C S Backhouse Partnership has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water from the River Aire near Rawcliffe, East Riding of Yorkshire, between National Grid References SE 65282 22717 and SE 69886 24529.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 100 cubic metres an hour

  • 1,800 cubic metres a day

  • 48,000 cubic metres a year

  • between 1 April and 30 September inclusive in each year.

The water will be used for direct spray irrigation.
