Cabinet Office evaluation of data matching pilots, 2011

As part of the Government’s plan to bring in individual registration from 2014, data matching pilots were undertaken in 22 local areas. 

This was published under the 2010 to 2015 Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government

As part of the Government’s plan to bring in individual registration from 2014, data matching pilots were undertaken in 22 local areas. 
 
Data matching enables Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) to match names and addresses on their electoral register with names and addresses on existing public authority databases for the purposes of improving the accuracy and completeness of the electoral register. 
 
This report presents the Cabinet Office’s evaluation of the schemes including recommendations for policy and practice.
