This agreement is published as part of the Code of Practice for public authorities disclosing information under Chapters 1, 3 and 4 (Public Service Delivery, Debt and Fraud) of Part 5 of the Digital Economy Act 2017.

The Cabinet Office are seeking to understand the quality of pre-employment checks undertaken using Internal Fraud Hub data, and the extent to which the policy is mitigating against the risk of internal fraud.

The expected benefits are to:

  • demonstrate the quality of pre-employment checks being undertaken by specific government departments and associated recruitment agencies
  • indicate whether and where non-participation in the Internal Fraud Policy is leading to greater exposure of risk
  • provide a more detailed overview of risk to inform an evaluation report and potential further policy development. In doing so it will enable the Cabinet Office to plan the development of future prevention work relating to internal fraud
