Under the protocols for papers of a previous administration the Cabinet Secretary, Sir Gus O’Donnell, having consulted the former Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, has decided to release the following advice on the establishment of a judicial inquiry to explore the findings of the Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee into Press Standards.
