We introduced some copyright exceptions and updated others in 2014. Along with changes to copyright licensing, we will review some of these this year. This covers:
-
The archiving and preservation exception
-
Other copyright exceptions. This includes the research, text and data mining, and education exceptions. It also includes the public administration, quotation, and parody exceptions
-
Extended collective licensing and orphan works
The call for evidence does not cover:
-
codes of conduct for collective management organisations
-
private copying exception
-
disability exception
Our call for evidence contains questions where we would like your help. Please provide the information against the exception or licensing area. If you have evidence which does not fit the questions, you can still send it for us to consider.
Please submit your evidence to copyrightconsultation@ipo.gov.uk by 10 April 2019.
