As part of the development of payment approaches for integrated care, Monitor commissioned a review of some of the international examples of capitated payments.

This research has informed our thinking on how international models of care and payment approaches may hold relevant lessons for the NHS.

Although designed for, and used in, very different healthcare systems to the NHS in England, these examples may provide some helpful information for commissioners and providers.
