Details
Monitor investigated how NHS England (formerly NHS Manchester) selected future providers of gynaecological, urological, hepato-pancreatico-biliary and oesophageal cancer surgery services.
The investigation followed complaints by University Hospital of South Manchester NHS Foundation Trust and Stockport NHS Foundation Trust that the process for choosing providers wasn’t based on the quality of services, patient outcomes and patient preferences.
Monitor closed its investigation after NHS England confirmed that the commissioning process under investigation had been discontinued.
