Details of the application

Cemex UK Materials Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is to vary licence serial number MD/028/0069/028 which authorises the abstraction of water from underground strata comprising of sands and gravels at Cromwell Quarry, National Grid Reference (NGR) SK 80279 61637.

The variation applied for is: to add an additional point of abstraction at NGR SK 80301 62043. The abstraction at the current NGR will cease before the abstraction at the new NGR begins.
