CEMEX UK Materials Limited: application made to abstract water

CEMEX UK Materials Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is to vary licence serial number MD/028/0011/011 to abstract water from underground strata comprising of Glaciofluvial sand and gravel at Berkswell Quarry, Warwickshire for the purpose of dewatering.
The variation seeks to increase the quantities abstracted as follows: From 1,938 cubic metres per day and 376,167 cubic metres per year to 3,000 cubic metres per day and 1,100,000 cubic metres per year.
The application also seeks to add two areas to the licence, Hornbrook Farm, within the boundary formed by straight lines running between the following National Grid References (NGRs): SP 22200 81338, SP 22454 81338, SP 22454 80813 and SP 22200 80813, and Park Farm East within the boundary formed by straight lines running between the following NGRs: SP 23229 80056, SP 23401 79904, SP 23233 79674 and SP 23085 79769 for the purpose of transferring it without intervening use to the un-named drain at National Grid Reference SP 22380 80980.
