Social action is about people coming together to help improve their lives and solve the problems that affect their communities. This can include volunteering, giving money, community action or simple neighbourly acts.

This policy paper covers what the government is doing to support high impact social action projects, empower communities to take action, and encourage giving and employer-supported volunteering. It also explains how we encourage more young people to get involved, and recognise and reward outstanding contributions.
