This project aims to disburse funds on behalf of the FCDO as part of the Chagossian Support Package to qualifying projects. These projects aim to improve the livelihoods of Chagossian people, who live in the UK, Mauritius and Seychelles.

We are looking for proposals from not-for-profit organisations that can function as a Grant Making Body. The organisation will allocate funding to projects that support Chagossians in one or more of these areas:

  • education
  • health
  • employment
  • social care
  • culture (retention and awareness)

The organisation will also oversee the design and delivery of suitable project proposals with partner organisations.

Successful bidders need to meet the criteria set out in the call for bids document, and be able to disburse funds of approximately £600,000. This is for the financial year 2021 to 2022 but, subject to future spending allocations, there may be a possibility for extension.

Submit your bid to BIOTFCDO@fcdo.gov.uk by 11:59pm on Monday 6 September.

The FCDO’s British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT) Unit will notify successful bidders week commencing 27 September 2021.
