These speeches were made by Chancellors of the Exchequer at the Lord Mayor’s dinner for bankers and merchants of the City of London, Mansion House, between 1985 and 1994.
Mansion House is the official residence of the Lord Mayor of the City of London. The Lord Mayor hosts an annual dinner where the Chancellor of the Exchequer gives a speech on the state of the economy.
Most PDFs contain the press notice which released the text of the speech at the time.
