This statement provides further information on the government’s plans to make changes to Tier 4 (Students) and Tier 1 (Post-study work) of the points-based system. 

It gives further information on how the changes, which are due to come into effect from April, will operate. This concerns the time that can be spent:

  • studying in Tier 4
  • work placements in Tier 4
  • staying in the UK to work after completion of a course of study.
