The Charity Commission proceeds with its proactive work to target charities failing to submit accounting information within statutory deadlines.

The Commission’s proactive work ensured that compliance issues in 108 charities have been addressed through its pre-inquiry and inquiry work resulting in over £282 million of charity income now being accounted for.

The Commission identified further serious regulatory concerns relating to 4 charities which were referred for further investigation under a separate statutory inquiry.

The Commission also found that 9 charities had ceased to exist or do not operate and were therefore removed from the register of charities.
