Details

New rules were introduced for all new child maintenance applications from November 2013.

Cases assessed under the 1993 and 2003 child maintenance schemes will have their maintenance liabilities ended, leading to the eventual closure of the case. People paying or receiving child maintenance under these schemes will be invited to make their own arrangements or apply for the new child maintenance scheme.

This guidance explains how and when we will end existing liabilities under the 1993 and 2003 schemes and how to apply under the new scheme.
