The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) conducted 2 rapid reviews following streamlined systematic methodologies to accelerate the review process. Studies reporting on any adverse health outcomes associated with chronic low-level exposure to hydrogen sulphide (defined as an average exposure below 10ppm for one year or more) were identified and assessed.
This work is comprised of 2 rapid reviews. Respectively, these assess adverse health outcomes in:
- adults and children, based on systematic reviews for evidence published up to 2014, and primary studies for evidence published after 2014 (search dates: 1 January 2014 to 3 October 2023)
- children only (presented as supplementary material 2 of the main report, search dates: from database inception to 5 June 2024)
