Details
The designated body maintains the approved inspectors register. It notifies every local authority in whose area the building regulations apply if any inspector’s approval is withdrawn.
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) is the designated body to approve inspectors in England and Wales from 5 April 2024, replacing the Construction Industry Council Approved Inspectors Register (CICAIR). This designation ends on 1 October 2024.
All references in the documents to CICAIR should be read as HSE.
