This circular publishes amendments to determinations made under the Police Regulations 2003 to implement the police pay award for 2021-22 with effect from 1 September 2021.

With effect from 1 April 2023, incremental progression through the pay scale will be dependent upon an officer meeting the requirements of the Pay Progression Standard (PPS) as set out in Part 1BA of Annex F. Forces must have processes in place from 1 April 2022 for officers to meet PPS requirements.

The requirement for constables to complete the Assessment and Recognition of Competence (ARC) process set out in Part 1C of Annex F will cease on 1 April 2022.
