Details

Local businesses and council leaders in Ipswich have agreed a City Deal with central government that will see local leaders given the powers and levers to deliver growth and jobs in their communities.

The deal, being signed today (30 October) by Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, Cities Minister Greg Clark and local businesses and council leaders is part of the second wave of City Deals to get the go ahead from government.

The new programme will support 3,500 young people into work in the Greater Ipswich area, increase local private and public investment in skills by at least £10 million, create 5,000 new apprenticeships by 2019 and create 3,000 additional high value jobs and 400 new businesses across Suffolk and Norfolk.
