Civil penalties issued, and value recovered, for employing illegal workers in the UK from 2013 to 2014

2148 Civil penalties were issued to employers of illegal workers in the UK, from 1 April 2013 until 31 March 2014. The gross value of the penalties issued during this period was £16,640,250. £5.4m recovered in penalties from 1 April 2013 until 31 March 2014.
However, please be aware that the number of penalty notices served in the period is not directly reflected in the amount of debt recovered for that same period. The debt can be paid at various points in the process either in one lump sum or in partial payments using instalment plans of up to 24 months.
