We will undertake randomised controlled trials to ascertain whether the correction of refractive error amongst school-going children can improve educational attainment? Timeframe and/or implementation plan (75 words limit)

We will have results by September 2021 with some interim findings by [date]. These will be disseminated widely to government decision makers, business leaders and NGOs.

Inclusive environments in the workplace

We will use the findings of our forthcoming research on the links between the correction of refractive error among workers and increases in productivity (and subsequent research on uncorrected refractive error and labour participation) to encourage work-based vision programmes by employers around the world.

We will launch our campaign in the autumn and seek initial expressions of interest from businesses by spring 2019.

We will encourage Commonwealth governments to honour the commitments they made at the 2018 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting to deliver ‘quality eye care for all’ and seek to broaden this commitment among non-Commonwealth countries by working within the UN system.
