UK SHORE and the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) have jointly allocated £7.4 million to a consortium of 13 UK universities, led by Durham University, to establish a flagship UK national Clean Maritime Research Hub.
The hub will run from September 2023 to March 2027 and is developing partnerships with industry and civic organisations to identify relevant research challenges and leverage match-funding.
It will build capacity, evidence and expertise in the fundamental science behind clean maritime technologies, generating knowledge for the sector to adopt in the development of clean maritime solutions.
