This research report presents the findings of the 2024 Climate Literacy Survey, commissioned by the Department for Education (DfE) to assess the level of climate literacy amongst school leavers leaving secondary education in England.
The survey aimed to:
- monitor changes in school leavers’ understanding of climate change topics over time
- understand the potential impact of policies set out in the DfE Sustainability and Climate Change Strategy
This research was commissioned by the Sunak Conservative government and is not necessarily a reflection of the current government’s policies and priorities.
