Details

The CMA has responded to the Liverpool City Region Bus Franchising Consultation led by the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority (LCRCA).

The CMA is a statutory consultee on bus franchising proposals in England. Franchising has the potential to deliver significant benefits through facilitating greater coordination of ticketing and of complex networks - effective competition is an important part of making franchising work, however, our response highlights some of the potential risks and mitigations in response to LCRCA’s proposals.
