The CMA has submitted written evidence to the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Bill Committee. This Bill provides for the regulation of competition in digital markets; amends the Competition Act 1998 and the Enterprise Act 2002; and makes provisions relating to further protection of consumer rights.
The CMA’s submission sets out why this legislation is needed; elements of the Bill we think are particularly important; and how the CMA is preparing for the new responsibilities proposed in the Bill. It also explains how the CMA’s processes are designed to be transparent and accountable both to Parliament and the UK public.
