On 18 March 2021, the Secretary of State approved the proposals for improved access to the coast between Minehead and Combe Martin. Their decision is outlined in the notice.

The Secretary of State has also made available a copy of the report given to him by the Appointed Person relating to an objection made about this stretch of coast.

The habitats regulations assessment updates part of the sensitive features report. A European court ruling in 2018 affects how Natural England carries out this type of assessment. The document takes account of any changes to the proposals since the date of submission and incorporates the latest available data and evidence.
