Details

On 21 June 2017, Natural England submitted a coastal access report for improving coastal access between Whitstable and Iwade to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. This report sets out Natural England’s proposals for improving coastal access under the Marine and Coastal Access Act 2009.

The Secretary of State has decided to approve the proposals and his decision is outlined in this notice.

The Secretary of State has also made available a copy of the reports given to him by the Appointed Person relating to objections made about this stretch of coast.

The habitats regulations assessment updates part of the sensitive features report. A European court ruling in 2018 affects how Natural England carries out this type of assessment. The document takes account of any changes to the proposals since the date of submission and incorporates the latest available data and evidence.
