Details

Coastal areas in England are invited to apply to establish a Coastal Community Team. These teams will be provided with £10,000 of grant funding via the local authority, to help them develop their economic plan.

Areas wishing to establish a Coastal Community Team should complete the application form and email it to coastalcommunities@communities.gsi.gov.uk.

In 2015 the government provided £1.18 million supporting the establishment of 118 Coastal Community Teams around the coastline of England. Each one is different in scale, membership and ambition – but all are geared towards making their local area better.

The government is impressed with the work undertaken by existing Teams and by the momentum and enthusiasm that becoming a Coastal Community Team has engendered in local communities.

We are aware that many areas who did not apply last year would welcome the opportunity to establish a Coastal Community Team. This prospectus therefore invites such areas in England to apply.
