Coletta Holdings Limited: application made to abstract water

Coletta Holdings Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is to vary licence serial number NE/026/0032/051 which authorises the abstraction of water from Hull & East Riding Chalk at Woodmansey via boreholes at National Grid References TA 05510 35908, TA 05472 35910, TA 05424 35899 and TA 05380 35900.
The variation applied for is to add the purpose of storage for subsequent spray irrigation with associated abstraction volumes of 30,000 cubic metres per year, 300 cubic metres per day and 155 cubic metres per hour.
Further details are: the current licence allows for abstraction of 500,000 cubic metres per year for the purpose of heat source pumping. The full amount is currently returned to groundwater, however the application is to keep the quantities stated above for storage for spray irrigation purposes. The period of abstraction is all year.
