Details

As part of the Competition and Markets Authority’s (CMA) call for information, the CMA commissioned DotEcon and Analysys Mason to carry out factual research into how and why consumer data is collected and used in 3 case study sectors.

The 3 chosen case study sectors were:

  • motor insurance
  • clothing retailing
  • games applications

This report explains the nature of data collection, use and flows in the 3 case study sectors and has informed the CMA’s report on its call for information on the commercial use of consumer data.
