Details

This report from the Commissioner for Children’s Services in West Sussex sets out the progress made on service improvement.

It recommends that conditions at the council are supporting the continued improvement of children’s services and confirms that the work to set up a company to provide children’s services company can cease.

The Department for Education issued a revised statutory direction to West Sussex County Council on 31 March 2022.

This report is the third by the current commissioner. Previous reports were issued in December 2019 and December 2020, following a report by Ofsted that judged the overall effectiveness of the council’s children’s social care services to be inadequate.
