Details

In June 2015 the Committee on Climate Change (CCC) and the Adaptation Sub-Committee (ASC) published the seventh progress report on Government’s mitigation activity and the first statutory assessment of the National Adaptation Programme. A third document provided a summary of the issues for both adaptation and mitigation and presented five main recommendations for Government on climate change.

The Government response is divided in the same way, with a summary document addressing the five main recommendations and more detailed responses on mitigation and adaptation.

The mitigation response addresses the CCC’s 35 detailed recommendations on progress towards meeting carbon budgets. It covers the following sectors: power, industry, buildings, transport, waste and F gas, agriculture, forestry and land use.

The adaptation response addresses the ASC’s 36 detailed recommendations on preparing for the impacts of climate change. It covers activity relating to flooding and drainage, infrastructure resilience, overheating, emergency response, agriculture, the natural environment, business and local government.
