The Committee on Fuel Poverty (CFP) have decided to postpone issuing their next Annual Report until the outcome of government’s response to the recent consultation to revise the fuel poverty strategy for England.
However, given that we are now nearing the government’s first fuel poverty strategy Band E milestone in 2020, and given government’s recent commitment to bring all greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2050 (‘Net Zero’), we have decided there is a need to issue this interim advice ahead of our Annual Report.
CFP is an Advisory Non-Departmental Public Body sponsored by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS). The CFP’s role is to advise the government on tackling fuel poverty in England. Find out further details on CFP’s current and past work.
