Committee on Fuel Poverty (CFP) meeting minutes - 27 January 2025
Members present: Caroline Flint (Chair), Anthony Pygram, Anu Singh, Gordon McGregor
Invited guests in attendance:
- officials from the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ)
- Representatives from London Economics
Agenda Item 1: Chair’s welcome, members interests and minutes of last meeting
The Chair welcomed members. No new member interests were declared. The previous minutes of the formal meeting were agreed as final.
Agenda Item 2: Action log: update on progress
The Committee reviewed the action log and discussed outstanding actions with DESNZ officials.
Agenda Item 3: Stakeholder engagement
Members noted additional stakeholder engagements to be added to the engagement log.
Agenda Item 4: Review of Ofgem: call for evidence
The Committee held a discussion about how to respond to the Review of Ofgem: call for evidence.
Agenda Item 5: CFP Research Project 24/25 - update
Representatives from London Economics and DESNZ officials presented on progress on the Committee’s 24/25 Research Project.
Agenda Item 6: Fuel Poverty Strategy update
DESNZ presented an update on the review of the Fuel Poverty Strategy. Discussions followed on next steps and timings.
Agenda Item 7: DESNZ update
DESNZ provided the Committee with an update on current fuel poverty schemes and priorities.
Agenda Item 8: Solid wall insulation issues with ECO and GBIS
DESNZ provided an update on the solid wall insulation issues with ECO and GBIS.
Agenda Item 9: AOB
The next formal meeting will be held on 31 March 2025.
